Lunar Eclipse in Pisces

On Sunday, September 7, 2025, we’re having a lunar eclipse in Pisces. Eclipse seasons have been gaining public attention, almost reaching Mercury retrograde levels. Why? Well, because for some, eclipses can be major turning points. Your chances of experiencing a major ending or beginning are increased if an eclipse activates a sensitive point in your chart. However, no matter if an eclipse is lighting up your chart or not, we can all still harness this cosmic phenomenon.

A lunar eclipse is a full moon on steroids. In layman's terms, it’s an emotionally charged period. The reason why we call eclipses eclipses is because the Sun and the Moon are conjunct or really close to the nodes. If you know about the nodes of the Moon, then you know they have to do with karma and destiny. With the south node, we view it as past lives, karma, and bad habits. With the north node, we view it as the antidote to the south node and is where we want to aim our energy toward to heal the attitude and habits that are keeping us from our evolution.

The eclipse happening on Sept. 7th has the Sun conjunct the south node in Virgo, and the Moon is conjunct the north node in Pisces. The Sun is illuminating the Virgo negative attitudes we should release: insecurity, shame, guilt, pickiness, judgment (of others and ourselves), and unworthiness. The Moon is reflecting the Pisces positive qualities we need to embrace: surrendering to the divine, going with the flow, enjoying the moment, and knowing that God’s love is absolute. That last point is about realizing that we don’t have to do anything to be loved by God. We are already perfect the way we are. I love this line by Steven Forrest in Yesterday’s Sky about the north node in Pisces, “He or she needs to play–to become as a little child.” And if you’re not ready to play just yet, then let’s do some healing work.

Earlier this week, I listened to the Endless Honeymoon podcast, hosted by husband and wife comedian duo, Moshe Kasher and Natasha Leggero. They had Elizabeth Gilbert, the well-known author who wrote Eat, Pray, Love and Big Magic. There were so many writer-downers that I had to watch the episode on YouTube. One of the things that stuck out to me was her daily practice called “Letters From Love.” Essentially, you write yourself a letter every day as if you were talking to God or to unconditional love or have a dialogue with your team consisting of guardian angels, fairies, your higher self, etc. Once I got home from listening to this ep, I immediately started talking to my “support team.” I’m only a few days in, but I can already see this being part of my daily morning ritual.

I had to look up her natal chart because she was so mesmerizing, and of course, she’s a Cancer Sun, hence the healing, warm, motherly energy she gave off, but another thing that stood out was fascinating was her north node in Pisces. What better way to embrace this lunar eclipse than learning from someone whose lifelong path is to head toward the realm of the Fishes?

As a Virgo ascendant, Pisceans really help me a lot. They help see what I cannot see and help balance my Virgo’s shadow frequencies. Whatever the sign opposite of your rising is, people whose planets are in that sign will fall in your seventh house of 1-1 relationships. This is why you’re usually attracted to people who have planets in the sign that is on your descendant (the sign that starts your seventh house). So, as a Virgo rising, my style of life is to pay attention to the details, to analyze, to create structures, and to perfect. Being a Mercury-ruled sign, I can overwhelm myself with all the information and can get lost in the sauce. When this happens, hanging out with a Pisces or calling them can help me relax. Pisceans remind me of the cosmic joke about being a human. Their energies support me in returning to equilibrium because “Not everything has to be serious. Laugh a little. Drink a little. Let’s go dancing. Let it go.” The Fishes help me get out of my own head.

No matter if you have Virgo or Pisces planets, the prescription for this lunar eclipse in Pisces is the same: roll with the punches, meditate, channel, imagine, and know that you’re already worthy. Now, for those who have placements near 15 degrees of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces), you will feel it more so than the other signs. Pay attention to the signs, symbols, omens, and synchronicities. The reason why I like talking about eclipses is that when a pair of them activated my Scorpio planets once, I experienced wild events that definitely were omens. I’ve talked about them before, but for those who haven’t heard it, here’s a tidbit. A day before I was going to visit a woman I was dating, there was a dying baby bird on my driveway. On the night of the lunar eclipse, I got food poisoning, my ex-partner didn’t, and we both ate the same things all day. When I returned home from the trip, there was a dead baby bird on top of my car. So yeah, eclipses can wildcard events that feel karmic.

Lastly, eclipses usually come in pairs. New moons and full moons happen every two weeks. Therefore, on Sept. 21st, we’re having a solar eclipse in Virgo. This time, the energy shifts to embracing the positive traits of Virgo. Astrologers say that eclipse season starts about a week before the first eclipse and a week after the second. So about four weeks long. We already talked about how eclipses can feel karmic and fated, but they also have this Uranian flavor to them. Meaning, there’s a certain level of unpredictability. So you can expect the unexpected. The energy is intense, so be gentle on yourself. Listen to your body, rest, and stay hydrated. Don’t try to swim the Pisces upstream. Trust your intuition and go with the flow.
